Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) have been the longstanding, go-to biologic for the treatment of various diseases, owing mainly to their specificity, potential for high affinity, and long half-lives in serum. However, miniproteins have shown the potential to be a designable and easier-to-produce alternative. My goal is to bridge the gap between mAbs and therapeutic miniproteins, by recapitulating the therapeutic advantages intrinsic to mAbs, with the rcSso7d scaffold. Namely, extending miniprotein half-lives and enabling artificial Fc effector functions.
Outside of lab, I stay active in the gym and enjoy exploring new places in Boston and playing RPG video games.
